It is located just 50 minutes east of Springfield, 150 minutes south of Chicago and 150 minutes west of Indianapolis.

The Lincoln Trail Homestead Memorial - The site of Lincoln’s residence, a short distance west of Decatur.

The 1896 Transfer House - Once a shelter built at the confluence of Decatur’s transit lines, it was relocated to Decatur’s Central Park where it can be seen today.

The village of Argenta was incorporated in 1873, and is currently home to Prairie River Historical Museum, founded by the Prairie River Historical Society in 1996 by a group of locals. Inside the museum, you will find materials and artifacts dating from the late 1800s and up through the years. The building itself was originally the Argenta Grain Office.
